 Tying the Belt

Another sign of disrespect is a badly tied belt. Now courtesy of Rhos Judoka Gareth Love, theres no excuse.

Step 1

Put the Judogi on the normal way, left side over right. Then place the center of the belt across the waist.

Step 2

Wrap the ends round the waist and bring back round to the front.

Step 3

Begin to knot by crossing one end of the belt over the other and pass one end of the belt between back of belt and jacket.

Step 4

Pull tight and then finish the knot by placing the top end over the bottom...

...and tie.

Step 6

When finished, ensure the ends of the belt are of equal length and each exits the knot horizontally.
